Pagudpud Ilocos, Laoag and Baluarte ni Chavit

I remember having a group tour in Ilocos back in my UP college days. That trip was my first encounter with the cute baby Tigers at Baluarte. The Pagudpud beach (blue lagoon) at that time was unspoiled yet without  any infrastructures. I also had the opportunity to meet the beauty guru Cory Quirino in Ilocos.

Flashback. These are the "baul" pics during my slim and younger days.

This holyweek, it was the first time I tried to visit old churches miles away from home.  A revisit of the place after a decade brings back happy memories; a lot has improved like the installation of Bangui Windmills which are one of the main attractions of Ilocos tour. The blue lagoon, a serene isolated paradise before, is now surrounded with resorts, stalls and cottages.

For a bizarre and unique stop, visit the Safari museum in Baluarte. Seeing a preserved white polar bear and other exotic animals for the first time without having to go abroad is really a memorable travel experience.
